New "self-cleaning" anti-fogging coating developed by NTU

Researchers at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) say they have created a coating that can stop lenses from fogging faster than the blink of an eye. When applied to plastic lenses, the coating can spread water droplets in 93 milliseconds. This dispersion of the droplets into a uniform film prevents fogging.
SWISS Equips Entire Boeing 777-300ER Fleet with AeroSHARK

SWISS has decided to equip its entire Boeing long-haul fleet with the fuel-saving AeroSHARK surface technology. Starting in the middle of the year, a total of 12 Boeing 777-300ERs will gradually be fitted with the riblet films developed jointly by Lufthansa Technik and BASF.
Unique Coating Reduces Friction of Sliding Plastic, Ceramic and Metallic Components

A specialty film coating described as a type of diamond-like coating (DLC) from Oerlikon Balzers has been shown to reduce the coefficient of friction (COF) of sliding plastic as well as ceramic and metallic components to nearly zero, which increasing wear resistance. The company identifies this as a ta-C (Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon) type of DLC coating, sold under the tradename Balinit Milubia.
